Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Disney theme park in Lantau Island, Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is a large entertainment complex built on reclaimed land featuring eight themed lands, three hotels, and numerous dining and shopping options. The property offers rides and shows throughout the year for visitors of all ages.
A government agreement between Hong Kong and the Disney Company in 1999 led to a joint venture that resulted in the resort opening in 2005. Since then it has grown into a major destination for the region.
The resort blends Western Disney storytelling with Eastern design traditions visible throughout its structures and spaces. Visitors encounter this cultural conversation while walking through each themed area.
The resort is accessible by MTR through the dedicated Disneyland Resort Line from Sunny Bay station, making it easy to reach from anywhere in Hong Kong. Bus connections offer additional transportation options from various parts of the territory.
The castle centerpiece was replaced in 2020 with a new structure showcasing architectural elements from 13 Disney Princess stories. This made the park one of the few to completely redesign its central symbol.
