Fuqing

Fuqing extends along the Taiwan Strait coastline, featuring mountainous terrain with Guya Peak reaching 1,003 meters and numerous rivers crossing its territory.

The region displays continuous human settlement patterns from the Neolithic period, developing into a substantial administrative center during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

The region maintains its own dialect within the Eastern Min language group, sharing linguistic connections with the neighboring Fuzhou dialect through geographical proximity.

Two major railway stations connect Fuqing to the Fuzhou-Xiamen railway network, while public bus lines provide transportation between different towns in the area.

The population of 1.39 million residents divides nearly equally between urban and rural areas, with 744,774 people living in city zones.
