Wanfu Temple

Wanfu Temple sits on Mount Huangbo and features multiple halls and shrines that honor Buddhist teachings. The Mahavira Hall and Dharma Hall form the main structures of this temple complex.

The complex was founded in 789 during the Tang Dynasty by Chan master Zhenggan and shaped the Buddhist landscape for centuries. After damage from floods, fires, and conflicts, several reconstructions and renovations took place.

The temple functions as a spiritual center where Buddhist ceremonies and meditation sessions happen regularly. Visitors can observe these practices and connect with the active religious life of the place.

The temple complex is accessible from Fuqing city through regular public transportation services that connect to Mount Huangbo. A morning or early afternoon visit allows for the best exploration of the buildings and paths.

A generous entrepreneur funded an extensive beautification project in 2016 that skillfully blends modern and traditional architecture. This renovation preserved the historical character while bringing fresh quality to the spaces.
