Huating Temple, National Key Buddhist Temple in Xishan District, China
The Huating Temple spans across multiple halls featuring traditional Chinese architectural elements, including the Four Heavenly Kings Hall and Mahavira Hall.
Founded in 1320 by Xuantong Yuanfeng during the Yuan Dynasty, the temple received its current name in 1441 from Emperor Yingzong of Ming Dynasty.
The Mahavira Hall contains statues of Sakyamuni, Amitabha, and Bhaisajyaguru, with 500 niches displaying small Arhat statues along its walls.
Located in Kunming, the temple maintains regular opening hours and welcomes visitors interested in exploring Buddhist heritage through guided tours.
The temple houses a collection of Chinese Buddhist canon texts brought by its founder after visiting Jiangnan region in the 14th century.
