庆丰桥, Suspension bridge in Ningbo, China

Qingfeng Bridge is a three-span, double-tower, double-cable-plane self-anchored suspension bridge over the Yong River, carrying Tongtu Road between Yinzhou and Jiangbei districts. Its 3,654-metre length includes a 280-metre main span and an eight-lane deck. Four ramps on the Jiangbei approach link Renmin Road, Dongcaoma Road, Daqing South Road and Hudong Road.

Construction of the Qingfeng Bridge began on 20 July 2004 and it opened to traffic on 10 November 2008, carrying Tongtu Road across the Yong River between Yinzhou and Jiangbei districts. It was Ningbo's first suspension bridge. Because the Yong River Bridge needed cable repairs, the new bridge had to admit non-motorized traffic, and its steep approach ramps led to numerous accidents; the江北 ramps only opened on 16 July 2010.

The bridge towers are inscribed with the traditional characters 慶豐橋 rather than the simplified 庆丰桥. Some residents say the traditional form gives the structure more weight, while others argue it breaks the rules on standardised Chinese characters. The naming follows the usual Chinese practice of giving bridges an auspicious two-character name.

The bridge carries heavy traffic daily and significantly reduces travel times between both sides. Expect congestion during peak hours if you plan to cross.
