Riviera TwinStar Square, Twin office towers in Huangpu District, China

Riviera TwinStar Square consists of two 49-storey office towers and two 18-storey secondary buildings on the Huangpu riverfront in Lujiazui. The American firm Arquitectonica and the East China Architectural Design & Research Institute designed the complex, built from 2008 to 2011; the towers reach 216 metres. Their outer facades carry a pattern resembling bamboo. Tower 9 houses the Shanghai headquarters of the Agricultural Bank of China, and the podium holds the Mandarin Oriental Pudong hotel.

Built between 2008 and 2011 in Pudong, the complex was designed by the American firm Arquitectonica with the East China Architectural Design & Research Institute. It was developed jointly by China State Shipbuilding Corporation and CITIC Pacific on the former Shanghai Shipyard riverside site. The two 49-storey towers rise 216 metres and serve as the Shanghai headquarters of the Agricultural Bank of China and China Construction Bank.

The two 49-storey towers carry a facade pattern modelled on bamboo, a motif visible from the Huangpu riverfront. The podium below them houses the Mandarin Oriental Pudong hotel, while the towers serve as Shanghai headquarters for the Agricultural Bank of China and China Construction Bank.

The complex features underground levels that house parking and building systems, keeping the ground level open and accessible. This arrangement makes navigation straightforward for visitors and workers arriving at the site.
