The World Finance Tower is a 101-story skyscraper in Pudong featuring a distinctive trapezoid opening near its crown and an all-glass exterior. The reflective facade captures Shanghai's skyline and creates constantly changing views depending on the time of day and light conditions.
Construction started in 1997 but halted during the Asian financial crisis, resuming in 2003 and finishing in 2008. The completion marked a major milestone in Pudong's transformation into a global financial center.
The building integrates modern architecture with Chinese design elements through its shape and structural features across its 101 floors.
Three observation decks on floors 94, 97, and 100 are accessible by dedicated elevators starting from the ground floor entrance. Each deck provides views of the city at different heights for varying perspectives.
The foundation contains 2,200 steel pipes that provide exceptional stability for the structure. Advanced damping systems throughout the higher levels reduce wind movement and vibrations.
