One Lujiazui is a 269-metre glass office tower beside Lujiazui Central Park in Pudong, Shanghai, completed in 2008 and designed by Nikken Sekkei. Its commercial podium occupies floors 1 to 4, with offices on floors 5 to 51, and the whole building sits at a 45-degree angle to the axis of the central park. It was formerly known as Development Tower.
The building was completed in 2008 by Japanese architectural firm Nikken Sekkei, marking a milestone in Shanghai's development as a global financial center. The project was part of the city's rapid transformation during this period of economic growth.
The tower's name, One Lujiazui, is shared with its Chinese name Shidai Jinrong Zhongxin, meaning Times Financial Center. Its 16th floor houses the Consulate General of Kuwait in Shanghai, in rooms 1601 to 1604, and the building stands next to the China Merchants Bank Shanghai Tower.
The building is located in Xuhui's financial district and is well served by public transportation, making it easy to reach the business area. Visitors should note that this is an office building and access to interior spaces may be limited.
One Lujiazui's main tower is set at a 45-degree angle to the axis of Lujiazui Central Park, a deliberate orientation that sets it apart from its neighbours. The Kuwaiti Consulate General in Shanghai occupies rooms 1601–1604 on the 16th floor. The site covers 9,629 square metres, with 110,869.63 square metres of floor area split between a four-storey commercial podium and offices on floors 5 to 51.
