Banruo Temple, Buddhist temple in Nanguan District, Changchun, China
Banruo Temple is a Buddhist shrine in Changchun's Nanguan area that spreads across a layout with seven buildings arranged along a central axis. The complex includes an entrance gate, the Four Heavenly Kings Hall, a main hall, and supporting structures designed in traditional temple fashion.
Master Tanxu founded the site in 1923, though Japanese military forces destroyed it in 1931. It was rebuilt and reopened in 1934 as Huguo Banruo Temple under a new name.
The main hall displays a central Buddha statue flanked by Guanyin and Arhat figures arranged along the walls. This layout follows a traditional pattern that creates a focal point for prayer and meditation.
The site welcomes visitors and operates under the Changchun Buddhist Association and the Buddhist Association of Jilin Province, which hosts regular religious activities. Guests should dress modestly and be aware of any ceremonies taking place during their visit.
The grounds feature a marble tower dedicated to Master Pengpei that rises among lotus foundation beds. This memorial is a quiet spot of reverence that many visitors overlook.
