Lüchow-Dannenberg District, Administrative district in Lower Saxony, Germany
The district extends over 1,220 square kilometers and contains 27 municipalities, including the towns of Dannenberg, Hitzacker, and the district capital Lüchow.
The district formed in 1932 through the merger of two separate territories, with administrative operations relocating from Dannenberg to Lüchow in 1951.
The region maintains strong connections to its Slavic heritage through the historical presence of the Obotrite tribe, leading to its designation as Wendland.
