St. Elizabeth, Catholic church building in Jakobsplatz, Nuremberg, Germany

St. Elizabeth is a Catholic church building in Nuremberg featuring a circular floor plan and large dome. The roof is crowned with a golden cross, and twelve sculptures of apostles surround the cylindrical drum of the dome.

The building was constructed after lengthy negotiations in the 18th century and replaced an older church from the 13th century. Architect Franz Ignaz Michael Neumann designed the structure in the neoclassical style.

The church stands as a visible expression of Catholic faith within the Protestant-dominated city. It shows how a religious minority created its own space in a differently confessional environment.

The church is located on Jakobsplatz in the city center and is easily accessible on foot. Visitors should expect regular services and occasional openings for tours.

The interior features granite columns and details inspired by Roman religious buildings. This architectural model gives the space a classical character despite its modern neoclassical form.
