Waldsassen

Waldsassen is a rural municipality in the Upper Palatinate that spreads across rolling hills surrounded by fields and forests. The town is defined by the large abbey, whose church and connected buildings shape the appearance of the village.

The abbey houses ten life-sized wooden figures representing human virtues, carved by an artist named Karl Stilp in the early 1700s. These figures stand in the old library and display remarkable craftsmanship that remains visible today.
