Bismarckturm, Memorial tower on Schlossberg, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany.
The sandstone tower measures 12.6 meters in height with a square base of 5.8 meters on each side, featuring granite foundations and distinct corner elements.
Construction of the tower began in February 1899 under the guidance of University Prorector Gustav Steinmann, leading to its inauguration on July 28, 1900.
Students and faculty members of the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg collected funds and organized the construction to honor German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck.
Visitors cannot access the observation deck as the tower only contains an iron ladder instead of proper stairs for reaching the top section.
The structure displays a relief of the Imperial Eagle by Anton Viesel and the Bismarck family crest on its city-facing wall.
