Sonnenstein Euthanasia Centre, Memorial center at Pirna-Sonnenstein Castle near Dresden, Germany

Between 1940 and 1941, this former mental health institution became a center where Nazi authorities executed over 13,000 patients through systematic gassing operations.
The memorial center presents 22 individual narratives of victims through photographs, letters, and personal belongings to maintain their memory and document these events.
Visitors can access the memorial via S-Bahn trains from Dresden to Pirna station, with guided tours available upon advance reservation for groups.
Sixteen marker plaques line the path from Pirna station to the memorial, each displaying texts that connect to the historical significance of this location.
