Roonstrasse Synagogue, Jewish synagogue in Neustadt-Süd, Cologne, Germany.
The synagogue features a central dome-covered prayer hall with a cross-shaped layout, flanked by four-story buildings and adorned with tuff stone cladding.
Following its destruction during the November 1938 pogrom, the synagogue underwent reconstruction and reopened in September 1959 under architect Helmut Goldschmidt's direction.
The synagogue complex functions as the center of Jewish life in Cologne, offering religious services, educational programs, and community gatherings for its members.
The building contains multiple facilities including a kosher restaurant, library, museum, youth center, festival hall, and spaces for religious instruction.
In 2005, Pope Benedict XVI made history by becoming the first Catholic leader to visit a Jewish house of worship in Germany at this synagogue.
