Marmorpalais, Neoclassical palace in Potsdam, Germany.

The Marmorpalais features red brick walls contrasting with Silesian marble decorations, set along the shore of the Sacred Lake in the New Garden.

Frederick William II commissioned architects Carl von Gontard and Carl Gotthard Langhans to build this residence, which was completed in 1791 as Prussia's early neoclassical palace.

The palace contains the Grotto Hall dining room with an extensive collection of Wedgwood china, connected to the kitchen building through an underground passage.

The museum opens from May to October Tuesday through Sunday, while between November and March it operates only on weekends and public holidays.

The palace kitchen building was designed to appear as an ancient temple ruin when viewed from the main terrace of the residence.
