Hanau-Wilhelmsbad, Cultural heritage monument and railway station in Hanau, Germany.
Hanau-Wilhelmsbad is a spa resort with a historic railway station and cultural heritage site in Hanau. The grounds span 37.5 hectares (93 acres) with winding paths, ornamental buildings, viewing points, and attractions including a restored carousel.
The resort was founded in 1777 by Prince Wilhelm of Hessen-Kassel, who drew inspiration from English landscape garden design. This origin shaped the layout and character of the grounds that visitors see today.
The Comoedienhaus serves as a venue for performances, and the doll collections display craftsmanship from different periods. These spaces reflect how the park has become a center for local cultural activities and entertainment.
The railway station provides direct access to the grounds for easy arrival. From there, visitors can explore the various paths and attractions at their own pace.
The world's oldest fixed carousel stands here, dating to 1780. An artificial ruin on the grounds was built as Prince Wilhelm's personal retreat.
