Züssow railway station, Railway station in Züssow, Germany.
Züssow railway station is a rail junction in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district of northeastern Germany, with two platforms and four tracks. It links the small town of Züssow to Stralsund, Berlin, and the island of Usedom.
The station opened in 1863 as part of the Angermünde to Stralsund line. A later extension toward Wolgast added a second route through the junction, increasing its role in the local rail network.
The station building dates from the 19th century and is a protected architectural monument, making it one of the older working stations in the region. Travelers waiting on the platform can see the original facade up close.
Several rail operators serve Züssow station, so it is worth checking in advance which company covers your planned route. The station sits close to the town center and is easy to reach on foot from the surrounding streets.
Despite Züssow being a small village, its station acts as a branching point where travelers switch between the main line and the route toward the island of Usedom. This makes the station far busier than the size of the town would suggest.
