The AMF Automobil-Museum Fichtelberg is a technical exhibition center spanning three halls with more than 1,000 objects. The collection displays cars, motorcycles, aircraft, fire engines, tractors, and bicycles ranging across different time periods.
The museum was founded in 1992 and grew to become one of the largest technical exhibition centers in Northern Bavaria. It documents vehicle and machinery development spanning more than a century.
The collection shows how people's relationship with mobility changed across generations, from horse-drawn carriages to cars and motorcycles. Visitors can observe how these vehicles shaped daily life and travel throughout the past centuries.
The museum is fully accessible for wheelchair users and provides ample parking spaces on site. It is open Tuesday through Sunday, with Mondays closed for visitors.
One section displays military vehicles and steam engines, offering insight into technical developments of the 20th century. This collection reveals how wartime engineering and industrialization shaped vehicle design.
