Botanischer Garten der Technischen Universität Braunschweig

The Botanical Garden of the Technical University of Brunswick is a scientific garden facility in the city with around 4,000 plant species from different regions of the world. The facility spreads across several areas with open-air sections and greenhouses where you can explore tropical, Mediterranean, and native ecosystems side by side.

The garden was founded in 1840 and grew into an important place for botanical teaching and research. Severe destruction during World War II led to a reconstruction that preserved the historical purpose of the site.

The Victoria Cruziana water lily blooms here only on two nights in August, displaying a rare phenomenon where it opens white and later turns pink. This brief flowering spectacle attracts visitors each year who want to witness this special natural display.
