Path of Visionaries, museum in Germany
The Path of Visionaries is a walk of fame and art installation in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg that stretches as a series of plaques along Friedrichstrasse. Each plaque displays a quotation from a thinker or leader from a different part of the world.
The installation was conceived by artist and dancer Bonger Voges, who wanted to reimagine the area around Mehringplatz. The project connects Berlin's history with global ideals and has received support from international institutions like UNESCO.
The Path of Visionaries bears the names and words of thinkers from around the world who shaped ideas about freedom and peace. The inscriptions reflect a belief that different cultures can come together through shared values and dialogue.
The path is open all day and night and is located near Hallesches Tor station, which is served by multiple underground lines. The best time to visit is at dusk when the light makes the inscriptions easier to read and more striking.
The project aims to include quotations from more than 120 countries, making it a rare global bridge created in a single location in Berlin. This breadth sets it apart as an unusual artwork that extends far beyond European borders.
