Burg Frauenstein

Burg Frauenstein is a castle ruin perched on a hilltop near Bad Lauterberg, sitting at approximately 680 meters in elevation. The remaining stone walls and towers give visitors a clear sense of the original medieval structure and its defensive layout.

The castle was built in the early medieval period to guard trade routes and protect the surrounding region. Over time, its military importance declined and the structure gradually fell into ruin.
