Burg Frenz, Medieval castle in Inden, Germany.
The stone castle includes a preserved southern outer bailey situated near the Inde River in North Rhine-Westphalia at coordinates 50.8386°N and 6.34204°E.
The castle, first documented in 1104, belonged to the Familie von Frenz before passing to the Herren von Merode family in the 14th century until 1826.
The castle represents medieval German fortification architecture and stands as a testament to the feudal system that dominated European society during the Middle Ages.
Visitors should note that the castle remains private property, and access to the grounds requires permission from the current owners.
Following extensive damage during World War II in autumn 1944, only fragments of the original structure remain, with most of the castle demolished by 1964.
