Burg Loburg

Burg Loburg is a medieval fortress in Möckern with a central keep, auxiliary buildings, and stone walls forming a defensive complex on elevated ground. The ruins still display the structure of a typical stronghold from that period.

The first documented mention came in 965 through a deed of donation from Otto I, though the site originated as a Slavic fortification. It was later converted into a German stronghold and expanded.

The grounds have been maintained by the Loburger Weg association since 1999, though renovation work currently limits open access. It is best to check conditions before visiting.
