Burg Herrenzimmern, Medieval castle in Rottweil, Germany.

The castle stands on a mountain spur surrounded by deep gorges, with remaining walls reaching up to four stories in height.

The construction of Burg Herrenzimmern began in 1050 as the ancestral seat of the von Zimmer family until its sale to Rottweil in 1595.

The castle chapel ruins contain a bronze relief of Saint James created by artist Tobias Kammerer, establishing a place for contemplation in 2007.

Visitors can access the castle through marked paths from Herrenzimmern village, with parking available near the trailhead.

The castle grounds feature a festival area with shelter, fountain, and barbecue facilities available for group reservations from May to October.
