Burg Nidberg, Medieval fortress in Marienberg, Germany.

The fortress stands on a mountain spur above the Schwarze Pockau river, featuring preserved tower foundations and defensive structures from the 12th century.

Built around 1150, Burg Nidberg served as a ministerial seat and protected the ancient Bohemian path that provided access across the river.

The castle formed a settlement complex with Schwedengraben, marking the colonization period of the Ore Mountains during the medieval era.

The fortress remains are located 1 kilometer west-northwest of Zöblitz at coordinates 50.6618°N and 13.2176°E, accessible through marked hiking paths.

Werner von Neidberg, from the Pleissen ministerial family of Erdmannsdorff, constructed the castle and maintained control until the late 14th century.
