Büderich

Büderich is a district of Meerbusch located between Krefeld and Düsseldorf, sprawling across multiple hundred hectares. The area has a Citizen's Office at Dr.-Franz-Schütz-Platz where residents handle administrative matters.

The area's history began in 1166 with the founding of a Premonstratensian monastery, which sparked settlement and farming development. Religious structures like the church that followed shaped community life for centuries afterward.

The Wasserturm Forum serves as a gathering place where residents regularly attend music and theater performances. The local music school, active since 1962, reflects how arts education became woven into the community's daily life.

The area connects well to highways A52, A57, and A44, making it easy to reach by car. Walking and cycling paths run through the district, letting visitors explore at their own pace.

The St. Mauritius church tower dates to around 1200 and now stands as a memorial to war victims after the main building burned in 1891. This tower quietly marks a personal chapter often overlooked amid the everyday pace of the area.
