Drüggelter Kapelle

The Drüggelter Chapel features a dodecagonal central structure with 16 columns supporting the ceiling, including 12 in the outer ring and four in the inner circle.

The chapel, dating from the 12th century, was first documented in 1217 during a gathering with Count Gottfried II of Arnsberg regarding funding for a Holy Land journey.

Throughout the year, the chapel serves as a venue for chamber concerts and hosts the Drüggelter Kunst-Stückchen music festival, combining religious heritage with musical performances.

The chapel opens daily from 10:00 to 17:00, with extended hours during summer months, allowing visitors to explore the architectural details and religious artifacts.

The interior structure contains a barrel vault stretched between the first and second ring of columns, creating an unusual architectural arrangement for a medieval chapel.
