Schloss Granheim

Schloss Granheim is a three-story castle in Granheim village featuring a mansard roof and pilaster-structured facades that give it distinctive proportions. The main building is surrounded by service structures arranged around a courtyard, creating a unified residential and agricultural complex.

The castle was built in the 15th century and served as a family seat for generations before substantial renovations transformed its appearance between 1770 and 1776. This 18th-century remodeling gave the building its current appearance and shaped its architectural character.

The castle displays the coat of arms of the von Speth family on its gable, marking the noble lineage that once called this place home. Visitors can still observe these heraldic emblems today, connecting them to generations of aristocratic life in the region.

The castle sits at the northern edge of Granheim village and is accessible via local country roads that pass through the settlement. Since this is a private property, visitors should arrange any tours or access in advance before planning a visit.
