The former district and regional court in the city center is a court building distinguished by neo-baroque architecture, featuring a portico supported by six ionic columns and a hipped roof. Located on Mühlenstraße 34, it was later converted into a residential complex housing apartments, restaurants, and exhibition spaces.
The building was constructed between 1913 and 1923 following architect Felix Dechant's design and served as the city's court facility. Its function as a courthouse ended in 2010, after which the structure was converted into a residential development.
The life-sized sculptures above the columned portico were created by sculptor Hubert Netzer and represent virtues connected to the building's judicial past. These artworks remain central to the facade's character and speak to its original function.
The transformed complex now houses diverse uses and is accessible to visitors through its restaurants and exhibition spaces. Underground parking is available with several hundred spaces, and the building sits centrally in the historic downtown district.
The renovation preserved the entire historical facade while the interior was transformed into modern luxury apartments. This approach allowed the building to maintain its architectural heritage status while gaining a completely new purpose.
