Rosenburg, Romanesque Revival villa in Kessenich district, Bonn, Germany.
Rosenburg is a Romanesque Revival villa in the Kessenich district of Bonn with multiple wings and corner towers at each end of the structure. The building connects two separate sections through a central tower and now functions as residential apartments.
The villa was originally established in 1831 and acquired in 1862 by silk manufacturer Gustav Schlieper. From 1950 to 2005 it served as headquarters for German government offices, first the Ministry of Justice and later the Armed Forces Office.
The name comes from the rose symbol in the coat of arms of Katharina, wife of the original owner. The property reflects 19th-century building traditions and serves as a residential complex within the neighborhood.
The building is now private residential apartments and access to the grounds is restricted. Visitors should view the property from outside and respect the privacy of current residents.
The property originally included six hectares of woodland that were purchased along with the building by Gustav Schlieper in 1862. This generous landscape still influences the character of the setting within the urban area.
