Kloster Löwental, Dominican monastery in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
The monastery complex includes a Baroque church consecrated in 1687, agricultural buildings, and remnants of the original defensive walls near Lake Constance.
Founded in 1250 by Johannes von Ravensburg-Löwental, the monastery began as Himmelwonne before changing its name to Löwental in 1253.
The Dominican nuns managed an extensive network of 64 farms and operated a successful pharmacy, contributing to regional economic development.
The monastery buildings underwent multiple transformations, with some structures converted into military barracks in 1812 after secularization.
The monastery acquired substantial wealth through land grants from the Habsburg family and maintained a grain processing mill called Trautenmühle.
