The Signalberg is the highest point of the Damme Hills and the Oldenburg Münsterland, reaching 146 m above sea level. Its summit lies 3.7 km north-northeast of Damme and 3.8 km south of Steinfeld, about 670 m east of the Schweizerhaus restaurant on the L 846 road. A Bundeswehr transmission tower stands on the crest, and the 134 m telecommunications tower of Deutsche Telekom rises about 730 m north-northwest of the summit.

The name Signalberg means "beacon hill", pointing to its former role as a signal point. Today the summit carries a Bundeswehr transmission tower, and 730 m north-northwest of the top stands the 134 m Fernmeldeturm Dammer Berge of Deutsche Telekom, which has broadcast DAB+ digital radio since 27 January 2017.
