Studio Filmtheater, Independent movie theater in Dreiecksplatz, Kiel, Germany

Studio Filmtheater is an independent movie theater located at Dreiecksplatz offering three screening rooms with a combined seating capacity of around 480 seats. The rooms are equipped with modern Dolby sound systems designed to deliver quality audio for different film formats.

The cinema opened on 23 December 1914, a few months after the start of World War I, under the name Palast-Lichtspiele. It was later called Capitol Kino and took the name Studio in 1968. After closing in the late 1990s, Steffen Wietek reopened it in 2002 as Neues Studio; following insolvency in 2009, it reopened on 23 December 2009 as STUDIO - Filmtheater am Dreiecksplatz, now run by Dennis Jahnke and Matthias Ehr.

The cinema serves as a gathering place for film enthusiasts who seek out German-language works and independent productions. Visitors encounter an audience here that values cinema as an art form, not merely as entertainment.

Three of the cinema's four original auditoriums remain in use; the fourth was converted into a café when the Neues Studio reopened. The building is not wheelchair accessible. Screenings include original-language versions on Mondays and a reduced-price cinema day on Tuesdays.
