The Walzstahlhaus extends over 10,386 square meters with a monumental pillar construction stretching across two stories at its main entrance point.
Architects Heinrich Rosskotten and Karl Wach designed this steel skeleton structure, which was completed in 1940 as headquarters for the Steelwork Union AG.
The building's facade features five distinctive console heads and statues created by Düsseldorf sculptor Erich Kuhn, representing industrial craftsmanship.
Located at Kasernenstraße 36, the structure houses multiple offices, including AOK insurance company, and provides access to public transportation networks.
The building served as the venue for establishing North Rhine-Westphalia state in 1946 during the British occupation after World War II.
