Sender Aachen-Stolberg, Communication tower in Stolberg, Germany
Sender Aachen-Stolberg is a steel lattice tower located on elevated terrain in southwestern Germany. The structure supports multiple antennas for radio and television broadcasting, serving listeners and viewers across a wide area with various frequencies and digital services.
The current mast was erected in 1993, replacing an earlier antenna tower from 1951 that originally operated as a medium wave transmitter. This replacement marked a significant modernization of broadcast infrastructure in the border region.
The transmitter serves the Euregio Maas-Rhein region, connecting German and Belgian communities through radio and television broadcasts.
The area around the mast is accessible to the public, though the tower itself is not open to visitors. The hilltop location offers good views of the antenna configuration and surrounding landscape.
Due to its elevation and antenna configuration, the signal reaches the Cologne Bay and Bergisches Land, similar to the Langenberg transmitter's coverage.
