Villa Baare, Renaissance villa in Höntrop, Bochum, Germany.
Villa Baare is a residential building with Italian Renaissance design features and a distinctive tower in Höntrop. The estate sits surrounded by extensive gardens and currently serves as a Waldorf kindergarten.
The building was constructed in 1888 by an industrial company as a residence for their director Louis Baare. A tower and additional structures were added in 1904 by his son Fritz.
The villa grounds host the annual Höntroper Töpfermarkt ceramics market, where 50 selected artists present their handmade creations each September.
The building is not open to the public as it operates as a kindergarten facility. The exterior gardens are visible from the surrounding streets and give a sense of the original landscape design.
Fritz Baare, the son of the original owner, expanded the villa in 1904 by adding a tower and additional structures to enhance its architectural presence.
