Hohe Buche

Hohe Buche is a hilltop summit located in the northern Palatine Forest region between Enkenbach-Alsenborn and Carlsberg. The terrain features open views and mixed woodlands typical of this central German upland area.

The formation resulted from ancient volcanic activity that shaped the landscape through lava flows. The area was actively used and settled during Roman and medieval periods when populations relied on the surrounding landscape.

The summit attracts walkers and nature enthusiasts from surrounding towns who gather there for outdoor recreation and to observe the landscape and wildlife. Local communities view it as a natural gathering place throughout the seasons for leisurely exploration of the forest environment.

The Eisbach river begins on the northern slopes and starts its journey flowing downward from this location. The water eventually feeds into the Eiswoog lake, a significant body of water in the region.
