Henfling-Gymnasium Meiningen, Secondary school in Meiningen, Germany.
Henfling-Gymnasium is a secondary school located in the Jerusalem district of Meiningen and comprises multiple buildings connected by a glass atrium. This atrium was added during renovations in 1997 and shapes the overall character of the school complex.
The school was founded in 1510 as a Latin school through the humanistic reform movement led by Balthasar Regler. It received its current name in 1945 to honor the benefactor Johann Ernst Henfling.
The school hosts regular student exchanges with partner institutions in Spain and Norway, creating opportunities for learners to experience different cultures firsthand. These international connections shape school life and build understanding across borders.
The school building is typically accessed via the Jerusalem-Strasse entrance, and visitors should arrange an appointment beforehand. The glass atrium provides good orientation between the different parts of the school.
Since March 2019, the school operates as a pilot institution for a Thuringian project testing digital learning methods. This makes it a place where innovative teaching approaches using technology are being put into practice.
