Schulenburg, Administrative district in Pattensen, Germany
Schulenburg is a district in southern Pattensen, Lower Saxony, situated along the Leine River. The area lies between key transportation routes that connect the region to Hanover and surrounding towns.
Archaeological excavations in 2020 uncovered a human settlement dating back approximately 7000 years. This was one of the largest discoveries of linear pottery culture in the local region.
The Thomas Church on Schulstraße serves the evangelical community, while the former Heilig-Kreuz Church, built in 1960, now stands as a landmark with a different purpose. These two buildings shape the religious identity and appearance of the district.
The area is accessible via main roads B3 and B443 as well as highway A7. These connections make it easy to travel to Hanover and nearby places.
In 1911, workers discovered a Bronze Age artifact during forest operations, later known as the Goldlunula. This find is one of the few Early Bronze Age objects with Irish origins ever unearthed in Germany.
