Ober-Schönmattenwag

Ober-Schönmattenwag is a rural district covering around 700 hectares positioned between two river valleys in the Hessian region. The terrain sits at about 240 meters elevation and falls under the administration of Wald-Michelbach municipality.

The first written record dates to 1012, referring to the watery character of the land. By the 13th century, it came under the control of the Lords of Hirschhorn.
