The transmission facility underwent a transformation in 1988, replacing its original 1951 steel tube pylon design with the current guyed lattice tower structure.
The tower maintains communication networks throughout southern Hesse, connecting communities through radio broadcasts and regional information distribution.
Multiple radio stations broadcast from this location, including hr1 at 90.6 MHz, hr3 at 92.7 MHz, hr4 at 101.6 MHz, and YOU FM at 95.3 MHz.
The transmission tower base measures 12 by 12 meters and weighs 130 tons, extending its signal coverage from Darmstadt to Stuttgart.
