Jagdschloss Spiegelsberge

Jagdschloss Spiegelsberge is a hunting lodge with a rectangular floor plan and curved gables in Renaissance style on its northern and southern facades. The building features both original construction and architectural elements incorporated from a demolished earlier castle, creating a layered structure.

The hunting lodge was built in the late 1700s and incorporated materials and parts from an older castle that had been torn down. This reuse of architectural elements shows how builders of that era salvaged and repurposed components from earlier structures.

The lodge sits within a landscape park established as an English-style garden that became open to the public, where visitors can stroll freely among the grounds. The park setting shapes how people experience the building today and connects it to its natural surroundings.

The lodge has operated as a restaurant since the mid-1900s and welcomes visitors throughout the year. The site is easy to access and offers both outdoor areas and interior spaces to explore and spend time.

The cellar houses a massive historical barrel that was once a notable feature of the lodge and can still be seen today. This barrel is an impressive example of the craftsmanship from earlier centuries.
