Kloster Haina

Kloster Haina is a medieval Cistercian monastery located east of Marburg, featuring Gothic architecture with stone arches and tall vaulted ceilings. The complex spreads across substantial grounds with multiple buildings that were constructed and modified over several centuries to serve religious and later medical purposes.

The monastery was founded in 1144 and later relocated to its present location, where church construction started in 1215 and concluded in 1330. After the religious order dissolved in the 1500s, the complex transformed into a hospital, marking a major shift in its function and purpose.
