Kloster Maria Trost, Religious heritage site in Kesselheim, Koblenz, Germany
The monastery Maria Trost featured a church with four naves converging at the choir, allowing different groups to attend services separately.
Built between 1748 and 1752 as Schönbornslust Palace by architect Balthasar Neumann, the site was later transformed into a monastery in 1888.
The Sisters of the Good Shepherd established this institution to provide education and support for young women facing social difficulties.
The monastery operated as a school and home for girls until the 1970s before being sold to the city of Koblenz.
Most structures, including the architecturally distinctive church, were demolished in 1988, with only minimal parts of the original complex remaining.
