Kloster Ohrbeck

Kloster Ohrbeck is a Franciscan monastery near Georgsmarienhütte featuring a distinctive round church crowned by a dome. The complex was designed in neoclassical style by architect Johannes Nellesen from Münster and sits within expansive woodland grounds.

The monastery was authorized by the Prussian government in 1917 and first inhabited by Franciscan friars in 1918. It was established on forest land specifically set aside for the religious community's use.
