Kulturzentrum Schlachthof

The Kulturzentrum Schlachthof operates in a preserved gatehouse complex with an event hall, bar, fireplace room, and outdoor beer garden.

After the slaughterhouse relocated to Waldau in 1973, citizens transformed the remaining buildings into a cultural center through community initiatives in 1978.

The center presents 220 annual events including world music concerts, jazz performances, hip-hop shows, comedy nights, readings, and discussion forums.

Located at Mombachstraße 123, the facility provides seven group rooms, two music practice spaces, and a kitchen for community activities and private events.

The center serves as an integration hub in Nordstadt, where 36 percent of residents are non-German, offering language courses and educational programs.
