Kloster Ahnaberg, Medieval monastery in Kassel, Germany.

The Premonstratensian monastery stands between the Ahna and Fulda rivers, featuring architectural elements from the 12th century religious complex.

Landgravine Hedwig of Thuringia and Count Heinrich Raspe II founded the monastery between 1140 and 1148 as a religious institution for both monks and nuns.

The monastery served as a burial site for the Hessian nobility, including Landgrave Johann I, and contained valuable artworks like the 15th-century winged altar.

The former monastery grounds now house the Oskar-von-Miller School, with several buildings adapted for educational purposes in the Wesertor district.

Emperor Heinrich VI granted the monastery special protection privileges in 1192, ensuring its independence from regional powers until modern times.
