Lantz'scher Park, Historic park in Lohausen, Germany
Lantz'scher Park is a landscaped green space in Lohausen featuring winding paths, clusters of trees, and open lawns in northern Düsseldorf. The grounds span several hectares and house a chapel with art exhibitions as well as a historic manor house.
Heinrich Balthasar Lantz, a colonial trader and city council member, purchased the estate in 1804 and built a manor house. A family chapel was constructed in the late 1800s to commemorate the Lantz family's legacy on the grounds.
The park functions as a space for contemporary sculptures, with rotating art installations and cultural events visible throughout the year. Visitors encounter changing artistic works that blend into the garden landscape.
The grounds are open daily, while the chapel with art exhibitions is accessible Thursday through Sunday from 2 PM to 6 PM. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended as the winding paths invite exploration through the green spaces.
A family chapel built between 1878 and 1879 stands at the center of the grounds, commemorating Mathilde Lantz. This small structure now serves both as a memorial and as an unconventional gallery space for contemporary artwork.
