Kreuzeckbahn

The Kreuzeckbahn is a cable car system that carries visitors upward from the valley floor toward higher elevations. The installation connects different mountain zones and opens access to hiking and skiing areas around the peak.

An older aerial tramway operated in this location for many years before being replaced by a newer system. The upgrade significantly increased how many people could travel uphill at one time.

Traditional mountain lodges dot the area around the upper stations, serving local Bavarian food to hikers and skiers who stop to rest. These huts function as natural gathering places where visitors experience how mountain communities have sustained themselves through hospitality.

The ride is relatively short and the system runs regularly throughout the day. Bring warmer clothing as temperatures drop noticeably at higher elevations compared to the valley below.

This lift connects to other mountain transport systems in the area, creating a network for longer journeys. Visitors can explore multiple peaks without returning to the valley in between.
